Seeking:
KEVIN J. / ALI & OTHERS –
Energetic, outgoing, and warm-hearted New Yorker who finds himself stranded in Gander. Kevin J. is affectionate and driven, while Ali brings a sense of calm and humanity as a Muslim chef trying to navigate the post-9/11 tension. Must be strong with accents and comfortable playing multiple roles.
Vocal range: Tenor with strong mix and pop/rock sensibility.
KEVIN T. AND OTHERS –
One half of the New York couple stranded in Gander. Charming, energetic, and upbeat — the more optimistic of the two Kevins. Tries to keep spirits high amid the chaos, but the strain of being stuck away from home takes its toll on their relationship. Must be a strong actor with excellent comedic instincts and emotional depth. Also plays several other roles throughout the show, so flexibility and dialect ability are important.
Vocal range: Tenor with strong pop/folk storytelling tone.
HANNAH & OTHERS –
A loving, grounded New Yorker searching for her son, a firefighter missing after 9/11. Deeply emotional, resilient, and filled with warmth and strength.
Vocal range: Alto with strong belt.
Song: Please prepare “I’m Here” (cut available in the folder). If you have a recording of this song already prepared, you may submit that instead.
DIANE AND OTHERS –
An open-hearted Texan who unexpectedly finds love in Gander. Diane is warm, funny, and curious, with a genuine optimism that helps others find connection amid chaos. Must be adept at switching between multiple characters and accents.
BOB AND OTHERS –
A skeptical and slightly guarded New Yorker who arrives in Gander unsure of the locals’ kindness and generosity — but slowly opens his heart to the community. Wry sense of humor, strong comic timing, and grounded honesty. Bob also doubles as several other characters, so versatility and a solid handle on dialects are key. Also plays Muhumuza and Captain Bristol.
Vocal range: Baritone with a strong pop/folk sensibility.
Vocal range: Mezzo-soprano with mix/belt.
1 FEMALE SWING – Covering multiple roles
Versatile performer with strong vocal skills, excellent ear for accents, and the ability to quickly adapt between a variety of characters, ages, and energies. Must move well.
